Warners Snaps Up Seth Grahame-Smith’s Holy Night

Gotta catch ’em all! That’s what Warners must be thinking as they’ve snapped up the right to a movie version of the new Seth Grahame-Smith book Holy Night before it’s even been published. If that name doesn’t sound familiar, he’s the author behind the various alternative takes on classic literature including Pride And Prejudice With Zombies and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

His new book which is set to come out in April, will reimagine the three wise men as thieves on the run who end up helping Mary and the baby Jesus to flee Egypt, encountering such Biblical favourites as Pontious Pilate and John the Baptist and according to Heat Vision Blog fight “magical biblical creatures”. Um ok.

I’m sure those nutters over at Christian Voice and the Westboro Baptist Church are putting the finishing coat of paint on their protest signs already.

Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter will be out next year but Smith has also written the script for Tim Burton’s upcoming Dark Shadows. A busy boy indeed.
