Will Smith For Tarantino’s Django?

Smith 300Will Smith may well be the lead in Quentin Tarantino’s remake of Django, according to reports.

The Hollywood Reporter says that no formal offer has been made to the Men In Black star yet, but he’s the front runner to play the lead role. Smith hasn’t made a film appearance since 2009’s Seven Pounds.

Django is the story of “a freed slave who seeks to reunite with his slave wife, a journey which will see him team up with a German bounty hunter to take down an evil plantation owner.”

Inglourious Basterds star Chritoph Waltz is already signed up to play the bounty hunter, and Tarantino stalwart Samuel L Jackson has also been touted to play ‘house slave to the bad guy’ Monsieur Calvin Candie.
