Tom Davis brings back his wonderful comic creation DI Sleet to solve more crimes against the world of celebrity in Murder in Successville, alongside new rookie recruits Professor Green, Richard Osman and Reggie Yates.
Davis plays the hapless, oafish detective crime fighter who, each episode, welcomes a new celebrity guest to help him to solve a case – without a script to follow and no idea what awaits them.
The series will return for a third run with six more episodes this year. “I’m over the moon to be jumping in my Capri gear and heading back to Successville,” said Davis. “It’s time to serve up a justice burger with a side order of fun with five brand new sidekicks.”
Much of the appeal of Successville has been built on its unpredictability and the bemusement of the guest sleuths to the situations they are asked to investigate: such as Dermot O’Leary investigating the murder of Amanda Holden, Mayor Simon Cowell’s PA; Dragon’s Den favourite Deborah Meaden uncovering Lady Cheryl Fernadez-Versini’s complicity in the poisoning of Lady Gaga or Olympic gymnast Louis Smith finding the culprit responsible spray-tanning Lindsay Lohan to death.
DI Sleet and his sidekicks will be joined for the series by a resident cast of top comedy names including Kerry Howard, Luke Kempner, Colin Hoult and Cariad Lloyd.
Murder in Successville returns to BBC3 later this year.
