Chris Carter – the man who was giving us werewolves, vampires and all the rest of it back when Taylor Lautner was still in nappies – is plotting a return to TV with a new female-led police thriller which has “a supernatural element”.
The man who brought us the ridiculously successful and ground-breaking X-Files is set to write and produce the new series Unique, although few details are available at this stage.
Not only did The X-Files propel David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson to stardom in the early nineties, but it effectively put FOX Network on the map and also set in motion its penchant for slightly edgy material.
The X-Files ran for nine seasons between 1993 and 2002, and spawned two feature films: 1998’s The X Files and 2008′ The X Files: I Want to Believe. Last month, Anderson told an Australian morning show that there’s talk of a third X-Files feature. “I hope it happens,” she said. “There’s talk of it.”
