The BBC are launching yet another comedy series tomorrow night – exclusively online. Simon Day (The Fast Show, Swiss Toni) plays ageing rocker Brian Pern, massive in the 1970s. Today, Brian’s solo, less flamboyant, bald and overweight. His back catalogue still sells but concerns over whether today’s bands like NDubz can use stationary or whether Take That can spell means the new album will take god knows how long to record.
The new series features Brian’s agent John Farrow (Bafta winning actor Michael Kitchen – Foyle’s War), his old band mate Pat Quid (Paul Whitehouse – The Fast Show, Happiness) and Majita, Brian’s old flame and Albanian’s answer to Kate Bush (Lucy Montgomery – The Mighty Boosh, The IT Crowd).
Brian Pern begins Friday July 16th exclusively online at www.bbc.co.uk/comedy
