After the joyfully smutty Spartacus: Blood and Sand became a hit in the states this year, Starz (that’s a TV channel by the way) decided to snap up the rights to the lavish adaptation of Ken Follet’s groaning tome to 12th century England. And after an American outing this summer, Pillars of Earth will be getting it’s debut in the UK this Saturday on Channel 4. With an impressive cast which includes Ian McShane, Donald Sutherland, Rufus Sewell and Matthew Macfadyen, we are expecting big things.
