It’s been 70 years since German forces invaded the Channel Islands and now Yesterday are looking back on the bravery of the residents of the Islands who suffered during the five year occupation.
The show gives a true account of what it was like for the the inhabitants of Jersey, Guernsey, Alderney and Sark who fought their own battles against the Germans whilst living in fear of the larger war that was casting a shadow over Europe. John Nettles visits the Islands to discover how the war still lives on in the memories of its resident and how the it affects the country today.
