Video: The Russell Brand Show Comes To Parliament

MPs aren’t used to being called ‘mate’, but then we suppose they’re not used to people turning up for parliamentary sessions wearing vests either. Russell Brand did both of these things as he tried to persuade politicians to go easy on drug-addicts by pursuing abstinence-based drug treatment programmes and show addicts ‘love and compassion’. The crux of his argument was that such issues should be treated as health matters and not criminal matters, but the most memorable parts of his appearance were his string of jokes. Our favourite is the final one about Theresa May.. “She might not even turn up mate, does she know what day it is?”
