True Blood-ites will have to wait until Sunday June 10 for the new series of HBOâs sexy vampire show. But at least the showâs bosses have realised that, like the vampires unquenchable thirst for blood, our intense desire for sneaky peeky previews is all-consuming.
Relief has come in the shape of a new behind-the-scenes-on-the-set trailer for season five, which duly acknowledges the fact that âWaiting Sucksâ?.
Labelled as “on location, 3:43 p.m., scene 47, take 1”, the clip whisks us intop the heart of Sookieâs (Anna Paquin) kitchen as werewolf Alcide (Joe Manganiello) comes to visit.
“It’s Russell Edgington, Sook,” Alcide says with a glum face. “He’s on the loose.” Sookie is suitably surprised by the news â she thought that Russell was âdeadâ? – so Alcide replies with a string of profanities to explain.
The 70-second clip then shows Alcide telling Sookie that Russell will be tracking her down and that, for her own protection, she should come with him. But this does not go down anywhere near as well as the juicyâlooking lemonade that Sookie is supping on.
Enter Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) and more expletives. âGet the f*** out of here wolf…How the f*** do you think you’re going to protect her from an ancient, pissed off vampire?…We’re done with all this supernatural bulls***, you heard me? No vampires, no ghosts, no witches, no Maynads and no f****** werewolves.”
Says it all.
Season five of True Blood airs Sunday, June 10 and 9:00 p.m. on HBO. Take a look at the latest behind the scenes trailer below:
