Earnest 'Earn' Marks is broke and is struggling to co-parent with his ex-partner, Vannessa, so when he learns that his cousin is close to rap stardom he sees an opportunity. Earn approaches his cousin Alfred - an upcoming rapper known as Paper Boi in the music industry - about managing him on account of the fact that he has the connections to make them both big.
