Following on from the BBC reviving other classic TV shows for one night, including Tomorrow’s World and The Old Grey Whistle Test, we now see a revival of Jazz 625. While this short-lived programme only ran between 1964-66, it regularly featured many of the greats from the jazz world, including Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington and Bill Evans. In this special show, Andi Oliver hosts from the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. As well as looking back in the show’s archive, there are live performances from among others Gregory Porter, Cleo Laine, and a special set from Charlie Watts of the Rolling Stones. Jazz 625 Live: For One Night Only is on BBC Four at 21.00.
