It is a shame that the first match in this series never finished, as England can’t complete a whitewash.

It seems that touring Sri Lanka in the middle of the country’s monsoon season is working for England.

Annoyingly there is little that can be said about the first one-day match because of the rain.

The cricket season has ended at home, but the England side are now abroad, beginning a tour of Sri Lanka.
