35 million people have been known to have died of HIV, and a further 35 million have been infected by it and Aids-related illnesses. Dr. Chris van Tulleken, who works in an HIV lab, explores the current progress that has been made so far in treating people with the disease. While it is no longer considered a \u201cdeath sentence\u201d as it was back in the 1980s, we are still some way of from actually finding a cure for it. Dr. Tulleken also visits a clinic in South Africa, where local attitudes towards testing HIV are still resulting in many people dying, and interviews Prince Harry at a HIV hospital made famous by his mother. The Truth about HIV is on BBC One at 21.00.
