A Very British Country House

British Country House

Set in the midst of a 376-acre National Trust estate, Grade I listed building Cliveden House is one of the world’s most exclusive country house hotels: a playground for the aristocracy and the super-rich, with a reputation for scandal. This two-part compilation series goes behind the scenes at the hotel during their busy summer season. At the height of the English social season, an influx of international high society guests arrive, taking advantage of Cliveden’s proximity to Henley and Ascot. Business development manager James invites two Instagram influencers and their Pomeranian dog, Pepi, to experience the 350-year-old house and mingle with the aristocratic regulars. Wedding co-ordinator Lydia is tasked with the biggest event of her career: a two-day Anglo-Indian wedding. The couple have booked Cliveden exclusively and the bride has requested that staff wear traditional Indian dress, but porter Kim is reluctant. With no restaurant manager, head sommelier Sean is in charge of service, which proves challenging when guests ignore the table plan. And Lydia loses her cool when the wedding jewellery gets stuck in the safe.
