Director David Leitch’s Cold War spy thriller starring Charlize Theron and James McAvoy. Days before the fall of the Berlin Wall in November 1989, British spy James Gascoigne (Sam Hargrave) is caught and executed by KGB agent Yuri Bakhtin (Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson). Ten days later, in London, British agent Lorraine Broughton (Theron), covered in cuts and bruises, is debriefed by senior MI6 officer Eric Gray (Toby Jones) and the CIA’s Emmett Kurzfeld (John Goodman). The narrative arc between the two events unfolds in flashback. It’s revealed that before Gascoigne was killed, a Stasi officer (Eddie Marsan) gave him microfilm detailing every undercover agent active in Berlin. The microfilm is now believed to be in Bakhtin’s hands, and it needs to be retrieved urgently. After being warned to trust no one by MI6 boss ‘C’ (James Faulkner), Broughton travels to Berlin to help David Percival (McAvoy), the UK’s top spy in Berlin, track down Bakhtin. So begins the frenetic, extremely violent race to get hold of the list. With Sofia Boutella as Broughton’s sultry stalker.
