Following their experiences living in post-war Bradford, the Ellis family move into the 1960s with dad, Jon, grafting in the local pit while daughters Caitlin and Freya enjoy the exotic tastes of Chinese cuisine and chat to Bobby Elliot – drummer of the chart topping band “The Hollies” – about the impact of the generation of northern superstars who revolutionized the British music scene. In a newly emerging era of prosperity in the north, the Ellis family find they can afford far more luxuries than they had been able to previously, including steak dinners and an authentic 60s caravan holiday to Filey.
