Exodus: Gods And Kings

Christian Bale and Joel Edgerton star in Ridley Scott’s epic retelling of the story of Exodus. Moses (Bale) is the adopted brother of the Egyptian pharaoh Ramses II (Edgerton), who sends Moses into exile when he confesses that he is a descendent of the Hebrews. While serving his banishment in the hostile desert, Moses meets God in the shape of a precocious child, who commands Moses to return and free the Egyptians’ Hebrew slaves. Ramses refuses, so God sends the first of the 10 plagues that are intended to force him to change his mind. The pestilences are rendered in cutting-edge CGI, from the inundations of frogs and locusts, through to the final terrifying plague and the spectacular fate suffered by the Egyptian army as they pursue the Hebrews fleeing to their Promised Land. The all-star supporting cast includes John Turturro, Ben Mendelsohn, Aaron Paul, Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley and Tara Fitzgerald.
