Film of the Day – A Quiet Place

A Quiet Place

Decimated by a strange alien race which uses sound to hunt their prey, the human race clings to existence in the forms of small pockets of survivors who must learn to live in absolute silence if they wish to remain unharmed. One such group, the Abbott family struggles against these dangerous new predators on their farm on the outskirts of an abandoned town. The family’s members are played by John Krasinski – who is credited with directing and casting roles in the film’s production – Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe.

Lee Abbott and his family are one of a few groups of survivors left alive on earth after an alien invasion left humanity on the brink of extinction three months prior to the events of the film. The family – knowing nothing of these terrifying new predators other than the fact that they hunt with their hypersensitive hearing – are forced into a life of silence.

But after a series of mishaps draws a group of creatures to their home and with Lee’s wife, Evelyn going into labour, will the Abbott family be able to evade their otherworldly stalkers and survive the night?
