Acclaimed director Luca Guadagnino (A Bigger Splash, I am Love etc.) leads the sublime 2017 coming of age story; Call Me by Your Name. The film stars Timothee Chamalet, Michael Stuhlbarg and Armie Hammer amongst others.
Set in the summer of 1983 in his family’s country villa in Lombardy, Italy, the plot follows the life of Elio Perlman (Chamalet). With his father’s American intern Oliver (Hammer) living with the family for the summer, Elio goes through a frightening but equally exciting journey as he discovers the thrill of desire with the two growing closer over the following months. Based off of Andre Aciman’s 2007 novel, Call Me by Your Name creates an atmosphere of the seductive allure of young love and the risk-ridden thrill of secret relationships while also succeeding in making it feel as realistic as possible.
