It’s an all-action microcosmic civil war scenario in the thirteenth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, as Captain America: Civil War pits fan-favourite Marvel superheroes against one another following a number of legal incidents regarding their actions. The film boasts an all-star cast including; Chris Evans, Robert Downey Junior, Scarlett Johansson and Sebastian Stan all under the executive direction of Joe and Anthony Russo.
The film starts out in the aftermath of the previous Avengers film with the eastern European state; Sarkovia, in ruin. The UN is therefore adamant on forcing restrictions and accountability on the team of superheroes, deeming their actions responsible for the destruction. These restrictions divide the group with half submitting to a higher level of accountability while the other half have faith in their own judgement, causing the first fractures within the team which become a staple of the story later on. With a malicious force working behind the scenes to fracture to the cohort of superheroes, the conflict between the two factions of the Avengers seems to be culminating in a climax which could have disastrous effects for not only the titular heroes but also for the world as a whole.
