Film of the Day – Get Him to the Greek

Get him to the greek

Russell Brand and Jonah Hill star in this 2010 black comedy, co-starring Rose Byrne, Sean Combes and Elisabeth Moss. The film – a spin-off sequel of Forgetting Sarah Marshall – is directed by Nicholas Stoller and reunites the cast with producer Judd Apatow whom they worked with for the 2008 film.

Aaron Green (Hill), an ambitious LA-based executive for Pinnacle Records is assigned by his boss and CEO of the company, Sergio Roma (Combes), to revive the career of British rock star, Aldous Snow (Brand) – a recurring character from Forgetting Sarah Marshal who has relapsed into a drug fuelled depression – by bringing him back to the United States. After travelling to England to meet with the maligned singer, Green realises that Snow has no intention of coming back to LA as he is not finished “enjoying” himself, following his split from long time partner, Jackie Q (Byrne). For the American executive, things go from bad to worse as he and his girlfriend Daphne begin to argue, forcing him into an uphill battle to not only save Pinnacle Records and his own career but also his whole relationship.
