Dreamworks bring the ‘How to‘ franchise to an end in this visually impressive animated family adventure. The storyline is standard ACME franchise redemption arc stuff but employs a clever twist.
Hiccup (Jay Baruchel) and Toothless venture out in search of the titular hidden world to alleviate the cramped living conditions in Berk (their village), which is stuffed to the gills with people and dragons. Living on top of each other has led to discontent and resentment from humans towards the dragons (the immigrants) who many think are a drain on resources – an argument we’ve never heard before.
When a Light Fury dragon is discovered, hopes of finding the mythical land increase and things begin to look up … but then the baddies turn up and citizens of Berk and dragon neighbours face their darkest threat yet. Stars America Ferrera, Cate Blanchett and F Murray Abraham as the black-hearted villain who is out to destroy all dragons.
