Wes Anderson’s feel-good family adventure, Isle of Dogs, makes its small-screen premiere this week as it crashes onto Sky Store. The film takes us to a dystopian Japan and tells the story of a young boy who meet man’s best friend – or rather, an entire island full of them. Isle of Dogs features an all-star cast including the likes of Bryan Cranston, Bill Murray and Jeff Goldblum and has drawn critical acclaim for its dead-pan comedy, inspired story and its animation.
After an outbreak of “dog-flu” courses through the canine population of Japan, the despotic mayor of Megasaki city, Kobayashi, banishes all dogs to Trash Island – a floating mound of off-shore litter. When his dog, Spots, is taken off to Trash Island; the young nephew of Mayor Kobayashi sets out to mount a rescue mission, accidentally stranding himself on the island in the process. The boy, Atari, befriends a group of dogs and together they set out to make it off the island.
Isle of Dogs – Available on Sky Store as of Monday 6th of August.
