Daniel Espinosa directs this superior sci-fi thriller which questions how our quest to discover extraterrestrial life might play out.
The crew of the ISS (International Space Station) are tasked with recovering a capsule containing samples of Martian soil collected by a satellite. To their surprise they discover what looks like a single-celled organism, but excitement about a potentially groundbreaking scientific discovery quickly turns to panic when Calvin (the organism) starts growing… and problem solving… and killing crew members.
Frantic, creepy and not without parallels to Ridley Scott’s claustrophobic genre classic, Alien. Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick – writers of Zombieland and the equally excellent Deadpool – provide the screenplay.
Stars Rebecca Ferguson, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal, Hiroyuki Sanada, Ariyon Bakare and Olga Dihovichnaya.
