Sam Rockwell stars in this intriguing sci-fi drama about a lone lunar engineer working a three-year contract alongside his robot assistant GERTY (voiced in brilliant deadpan by Kevin Spacey) seeking out, mining for and sending back shipments of Helium3 – the clean fuel of the future for all of Earth’s millions.
Sam has no communication link with Earth so his only interaction is with a robot and as his solitary existance takes its toll he makes a discovery that causes him to question his sanity.
With a wife and child back on Earth, all he wants to do is get home but with only two weeks of his contract remaining his chances of doing so are fading fast.
