Film of the day: Ouija: Origin of Evil

Ouija: Origin of Evil

Creepy horror directed by Mike Flanagan in which bogus mystic Alice (Elizabeth Reaser) and her two daughters run a scam séance act to pay the bills.

Nine-year-old Doris (Lulu Wilson) is small enough to fit into a special compartment in a rigged-up cabinet, while rebellious teen Paulina (the excellent Annalise Basso) poses as a shadowy, spectral presence behind a pulled curtain. Pretty soon a Ouija board is introduced and – as you might expect – it does far more than spice up a stale routine. As the family fool around with the board they fail to realise they’ve just set free an extremely unpleasant presence – and guess what, it wants to kill ’em all!

Stars Elizabeth Reaser, Annalise Basso, Lulu Wilson, Parker Mack, Henry Thomas and Lin Shaye.

Ouija: Origin of Evil – Thursday on Sky Cinema Premiere and Sky Cinema on demand.
