This British-French production comes from a collaboration of numerous creative champions and is based on the French graphic novel. Directed by Armando Iannucci, The Death of Stalin is a witty, ridiculous, poignant and surprising look at the final days of Stalin’s regime that was, above all, absurd.

In Moscow, 1953, Soviet autocrat Joseph Stalin dies suddenly, and lies dying on the floor for hours, as his personal guard are too afraid of being shot for disturbing him.

After his life ends, members of the Politburo, namely Kruschev, Malenkov, and Beria played by Steve Buscemi, Jeffrey Tambor and Simon Russell Beale respectively, race hilariously to become to next leader of the USSR.
