There’s nowt stranger than folk. Edward Woodward’s righteous, god-fearing police sergeant would be well advised to heed this as he sets off for a Scottish Isle to investigate the disappearance of a young girl.
This horror cult classic is a haunting masterpiece of implied violence and the supernatural, in which the faith of Woodward’s investigating officer is tested to its limit.
Christopher Lee is perfectly cast as the lord of the island who knows more about the child’s disappearance than he is telling. The Wicker Man is a pitch perfect chiller/thriller that disturbs to its memorable ending.
