It’s fair to say that many people were angered by the decision to invite a sitting MP onto the show and pay him handsomely for the time he should be representing his constituents, you know, his actual paid job. That said, Matt Hancock is winning viewers for ITV with his kangaroo penis-eating proficiency and willingness to take every challenge on the chin.
Maybe there is some form of catharsis for the nation to see one of the people responsible for the privations that came with the Pandemic, suffer the indignity of eating anus and other off-menu delicacies. Whatever his motivation for going in there, he is better TV than most of the others put together.
How long Hancock will last is anyone’s guess but if he starts teasing out snippets about who set him up to be fired and the extent of rule breaking at Downing Street, he’ll have a decent run.
