King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

King Arthur: Legend of the Sword

Guy Ritchie brings his signature brand of mayhem to the medieval legend, serving up a rip-roaring origins story for everyone’s favourite swordswinging monarch. He’s but a babe when we first meet him, narrowly avoiding death at the hands of his treacherous, throne-stealing uncle Vortigern (Jude Law).

Flash forward several years and our hero, played by Charlie Hunnam, is a roguish street brawler who discovers his birthright by freeing Excalibur from stone. Time to topple Vortigern’s tyrannical reign with the help of a mysterious female mage (Àstrid Bergès-Frisbey) and a ragtag band of rebels – including Sir Bedivere (Djimon Hounsou) and the pleasingly named Goosefat Bill (Aidan Gillen).
