Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer are back with a brand new series of Love It or List It. 2020 has been an extremely tough year for everyone and for those at odds over whether to love or leave their problem homes, being stuck in them almost permanently has made life all the more challenging. So Kirstie and Phil are doing everything they can to help reunite divided couples across the country. In this episode, they head to East Grinstead, where Lucy and Lynton are at loggerheads over their three-bedroom semi. Lucy’s set on staying as it’s the first place she’s owned, and she has strong emotional ties to the memories of her late mother staying with them there. She loves its location and its ‘feel’ and is desperate not to move. In contrast, Lynton finds the house claustrophobic with all the belongings they’ve collected and inherited over the years, and dreams of clean lines with everything hidden away. He also hates the disjointed downstairs layout, leaving the living and dining rooms unused and the couple spending most of their time upstairs. Kirstie suggests a radical top to bottom refresh and reconfiguration to give the house its best chance of being loved by Lynton. Meanwhile, Phil has a challenge on his hands to convince a resolute Lucy that there are other properties that she could fall in love with. Will he hit the jackpot and find a hidden gem, or will Kirstie’s makeover convince them to love it?
