Kirstie Allsopp and Phil Spencer help more house-hunters make life-changing moves. Some have had their priorities changed by living through the Covid pandemic, while others are finding they just can’t navigate the fast-moving property market on their own. For all, there can be no better help than Kirstie and Phil! In the beautiful county of Yorkshire, Kirstie and Phil savour the delights of its biggest city, Leeds, as they help two sets of house-hunters who want to up sticks and move here. But the market is moving too – and at speed. Phil is with Kinga and Dave, who are moving with their toddler, Lily. They’re leaving London and getting back closer to Dave’s northern roots, in the hope of finding a house in the more affordable Leeds. They’ve promised Lily a garden with a slide, but they’ve already lost out on offers in the vibrant Leeds market. Now they’re trusting Phil to deliver it, but that’s no easy ask when properties are going to closing bids almost as quickly as they can view them. It’s a search with both smiles and tears, but as Kinga and Dave tell Phil, this is a life-changing move, so he’s got to expect it to be emotional. Kirstie is with Max, who is moving from Birmingham to put down roots in Leeds and be close to new partner Dan. As Kirstie reflects, love may be a strong drive to make a dream move, but she isn’t sure he’s grasped the realities of the market. Leeds may still offer great value, but his request for four bedrooms and a separate space to let out, all for a £240,000 budget, means Kirstie needs to deliver some love of her own – the tough kind. There are false starts and home truths, before Kirstie is indeed able to show him all the space he is after… It may yet be that this lover’s dream can still come true.
