Tom Cruise stars in part six of the espionage action-thriller series, written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie. In Belfast, Ethan Hunt (Cruise) takes receipt of his latest autodestructing mission. He’s told that, two years on from his capture of Solomon Lane (Sean Harris), Lane’s remaining followers are wreaking havoc around the world. Calling themselves the Apostles, they’ve become terrorists for hire. Their worst act so far is unleashing smallpox on the borders of India, China and Pakistan, threatening a third of the world’s population. But recently they’ve been contacted by an unknown entity called ‘John Lark’, who is seeking to destroy world order and has been linked with the disappearance of a Norwegian nuclear weapons expert. The Apostles have been communicating with Eastern European criminals who possess three stolen plutonium cores. If Lark and the Apostles get their hands on the cores, they could have three portable nuclear bombs operational within 72 hours. Can Hunt and his team prevent unprecedented global devastation? Co-starring Henry Cavill, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Rebecca Ferguson, Angela Bassett, Vanessa Kirby and Alec Baldwin.
