Every summer, tens of thousands of British teenagers and twenty-somethings descend on Newquay to sample its notorious nightlife. But in recent years, the town’s residents have been keen to clean up its reputation and turn it into a respectable, family-friendly British getaway. Does Newquay still live up to the hype as the UK’s party capital? This programme follows four groups of young people as they head to the town to find out for themselves what the real Newquay is all about. In this episode, two groups descend on Newquay’s annual Pride parade but get more than they bargained for when homophobia rears its ugly head at a late night after-party. Meanwhile, real-life Inbetweener school friends from Surrey find out that they’re neither children nor adults and have to make their own entertainment. And two flatmates from Bury St Edmonds come to Cornwall after a shattering attack left one of them struggling to be himself.
