The RTS award-winning documentary series returns for a new run, following patients treated in the same 24-hour period at St George’s in south west London. The hospital has one of the busiest A&E departments in Britain – a place where stories of life, love and loss unfold every day.
This episode follows the story of two motorcyclists and the way in which bonds between loved ones are truly strengthened when the unforeseen happens. Przemek is airlifted to St George’s after being involved in a high-speed motorcycle crash on the M4. Doctors are concerned the 35-year-old may have life changing spinal injuries. Przemek’s wife Tatia tells of their romance, of building a perfect life together, all of which is now in jeopardy. Seventeen-year-old Leon is brought into St George’s having crashed his motorbike into a central reservation. While doctors await the results of Leon’s CT scan, his mum Janey tells all about her ‘cheeky’ son, who often struggled with mainstream education.
24 Hours in A&E – Tuesday 9:00pm on Channel 4.
