2017 marks the 50th anniversary of the passing of the Abortion Act in Britain.
In 1968, a year after the act was passed, Anne Robinson had an abortion. Now she presents this debate, filmed over a weekend from her own home, talking on camera about the subject for the first time: a subject that still divides people to this day. Even last week abortion was in the news when a court ruled in favour of placing a protest ban outside an abortion clinic in Ealing.
Robinson talks to pro-life and pro-choice figures in a programme whose timing is most apt.
Abortion on Trial is on BBC Two at 21.00.
