This French documentary looks into the history of one of Agatha Christie’s most famous novels, The Murder of Roger Ackroyd.
Professor of literature Pierre Bayard attempts to deconstruct the novel and asks if Hercule Poirot was wrong in his deduction of the crime. Given the title of the show and Christie’s own hatred of Poirot (she completely despised writing him, to the point that she made another character in the stories, Ariadne Oliver, a crime writer who hates writing about a Finnish detective), one suspects that Christie would hope to win.
