They say big things come in small packages, and that’s certainly the case in Paul Rudd’s second time out in the MCU in Peyton Reed’s 2018 superhero-flick, Antman and the Wasp.
Rudd returns as Scott Lang who struggles with his duties as both a superhero and father as he remains under house-arrest following his involvement in the events of Captain America: Civil War. Joining Rudd in the sequel are Michael Douglass and Michelle Pfeiffer who reprise their roles as Hank Pym and his wife, Hope, while Evangeline Lilly takes on a larger role as Lang’s super-powered partner, The Wasp. Michael Pena also returns and is joined by MCU newcomers Lawrence Fishburne, Walton Goggins and Hannah John-Kamen who make up the film’s ensemble of antagonists.
After two-years of house arrest, Scott Lang attempts to re-establish contact with genius-inventor Hank Pym and his daughter, Hope, who has since taken up the mantle of the Wasp in Antman’s absence. Juggling his legal responsibilities with a new quest to rescue Pym’s wife from the Quantum realm, the appearance of a mysterious new villain throws a spanner in the works for Scott and his friends and threatens to get the shape-shifting supers outlawed.
Antman and the Wasp – Friday 8:00pm on Sky Premiere.
