The artist Stanley Spencer had a somewhat complicated love life.
Back in the 1930s, he left his wife and moved himself and his family with his next-door neighbour Patrica Preece, who happened to be a lesbian. This ended up having a damaging affect on his daughters Unity and Shirin, who became estranged from each other.
This documentary sees them reunite shortly before Unity died late last year as they try to come to terms with what happened between them all.
Arena: Stanley and His Daughters is on BBC Four at 22.00.
