Today sees the beginning of the championships taking place at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow, with many Brits keen to win medals and secure spots for next year’s Olympics.
For the opening day, the person most people will be keeping an eye on is Katarina Johnson-Thompson, who is hoping to win gold in the pentathlon. Scotland’s Laura Muir will also be seeking to once again win gold in the 3,000m.
Other events on today include the final of the men’s shot pot and the semi-finals for both the men and women’s 400m.
Athletics: European Indoor Championships is on BBC Two at 09.30 and 18.30.
