The second season of BBC 2’s Back to the Land debuts tonight with Kate Humble – returning to her role as host – visiting the picturesque coasts and countryside of Cornwall. The series champions the most inspiring rural entrepreneurs who have built their businesses living off the land.
In this episode, Kate visits the south-west, visiting Cornish seaweed farmers, Tim and Cara, who run the only company in the UK which uses free-diving to bring in their produce. Kate meets them in one of their most crucial points of expansion – they are about to move to a new premises, are embarking on cultivating their own seaweed for the first time and Caro is pregnant with her second child – before continuing her Cornish adventure at a duck farm. She also meets two friends whose budding flower business is taking high-end weddings by storm and a man who’s love for foraging and brewing has led him to develop a thriving craft beer business.
Back to the Land with Kate Humble – Tuesday 7:00pm on BBC2.
