Originally broadcast on BBC Scotland, this programme looking into the life of one of Britain’s greatest stand-up’s reaches a national audience.
Portrait of a Lifetime marks both Billy Connolly’s 75th birthday and his 50 years in showbusiness, from his time on the folk circuit to becoming possibly the most popular stand-up comedian around. Part of the way he has been celebrate is that three Scottish artists, Rachel Maclean, John Byrne and Jack Vettriano, created portraits of Connolly to be displayed around his native Glasgow.
The programme sees Connolly meeting each artist, as well as himself talking about his career.
