This documentary looks at the impact of just four bombs that hit different cities in the UK during the Second World War.
Somewhat obviously they start in London, with a bomb that landed in Martindale Road in the East End on the first day of the Blitz. We hear the testimonies of people who survived the bombing, such as Stan Harris (pictured) and Norman Pirie, who were boys at the time. They remember that the bomb did not explode on impact. Ironically this delay led to more deaths.
Also covered in this documentary include attacks on Hull, Clydebank and Bristol.
Blitz: the Bombs That Changed Britain is on BBC Two at 21.00.
