Preview – Britain’s Got Talent

A show which needs no introduction after is immense success over the past few years, Britain’s Got Talent (essentially a talent show of national proportions – go figure right?) returns for its 12th series this Saturday with the brutally direct Simon Cowell leading the other 3 fan favourite judges; David Walliams, Alyesha Dixon and Amanda Holden, back into the limelight. Question marks over whether Ant McPartlin would return alongside Declan Donnelly were dispelled recently, however, after it was revealed Ant would appear in the pre-recorded auditions but would be absent from the live shows given his committal to rehab.

As for the auditions, expect a shed-load of acts which Simon Cowell describes only as “viral”, while elsewhere Diversity – the dance troupe who won the competition in 2009 return…sort of. Diversity Juniors – created by previous troupe leader Ashley Banjo – wowed judges with Alesha even arguing they are a good as the originals. Moving on, things get zany when DJ Murray Mint takes to the stage and the audience are left teary eyed following the performance of Hollie Booth – an incredibly brave 13 year-old who was caught up in the Manchester terror attack last year – as she takes the spotlight with a dance routine with her friends.

Britain’s Got Talent – Friday 8:00pm on ITV.
