Preview – Britain’s Most Historic Towns

Historian Prof. Alice Roberts travels around the country to examine the history of six towns.

Each episode sees her detailing a particular period of history in each particular town. In this opening episode Prof. Roberts travels to Chester, a city with Roman origins. Among the highlights they include an amphitheatre where gladiatorial battles took place, and a new theory concerning the town’s development.
