A sitcom starring Miriam Margolyes sounds like it should be recipe for success.
In Bucket, Margolyes plays Mim, a 70-year-old who has learnt that she is dying, and so she decides to compile a bucket list and complete everything on it before she passes away. She is helped by her daughter Fran, played by the show’s writer Frog Stone (I don’t understand the name either). Fran is a teacher more concerned with whether she is being promoted than dealing with her embarrassing mother and their battered BMW.
In this first episode, Mim and Fran go to visit what Mim calls “Norfolk’s answer to Disneyland.”
Bucket is on BBC Four at 22.00.
