Following from the BBC’s coverage of the Royal Collection, the final programme in the season looks at the return of works previously lost from the collection.
After Charles I was executed, Oliver Cromwell ordered that the Royal Collection should be sold off. Now over 100 of the paintings that were sold off have been returned to the collection. Brenda Emmanus, the arts correspondent for BBC London News, reports on the artworks and talks to some of the visitors to the exhibition.
Charles I’s Treasures Returned is on BBC Two at 21.00.
