One of the rules in soaps is that when a character is in prison for some reason, it’s a sure fire recipe for extra drama and plot twists.

So this may well be the case again tonight when in Corrie we see Clayton Hibbs (Callum Harrison), who is “inside” for murdering Kylie Platt three years ago, being allowed compassionate leave in order to attend the funeral of his father, at the request of his mother Shona Ramsey (Julie Goulding).

Elsewhere on the street, Roy Crooper (David Neilson) decides to ask Carla Connor (Alison King) to find somewhere else to live.

Coronation Street is on ITV at 19.30 and 20.30 on Mondays & Wednesdays, and 19.30 on Friday.
