Last time I covered the cricket, I mentioned the problems caused by the game not being played because of rain. This time the problem is with players being arrested.
Before yesterday, people were still basking in the glow of Moeen Ali, who managed to achieve England’s second fastest ODI century in history, scoring a ton in just 53 balls, including 8 sixes, three of which were in successive balls. There was also good action from the bowlers with Liam Plunkett getting a five-wicket hall.
But then it was announced that Ben Stokes had been arrested on suspicion for causing actual bodily harm at a nightclub after the Bristol match, and so won’t be at today’s game at the Oval. How it will affect the game remains to be seen.
England v West Indies – 4th ODI is on at 12.00 on Sky Main Event and Sky Cricket.
