Preview – Cricket World Cup: England v South Africa

Cricket World Cup

One the biggest events in this year’s sporting calendar finally starts today as the Cricket World Cup begins.

Hosts England get everything underway playing South Africa at the Oval. England are one of the favourites to win the tournament, partly because the last two World Cups have gone to the hosts (India in 2011 and Australia in 2015).

However, England did lose one of their warm-up games to Australia last week. Having said that, England didn’t field Joe Root or Eoin Morgan in that match. South Africa meanwhile never got the chance to finish their last warm-up against the West Indies due to rain.

England v South Africa is on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Cricket at 9.30 (play starts 10:30).
